Jonathan Anderson

Legislative and Regulatory Expert

Jonathan Anderson serves as the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies®’ legislative and regulatory expert. His responsibilities involve monitoring legislative trends, interpreting pension-related legislative and regulatory guidance and developing educational materials that explain their impact and implications for retirement plan sponsors, participants and the general public.

Jonathan is employed by Transamerica Life Insurance Company as an Associate Vice President, Plan Compliance Manager and ERISA Specialist where he is responsible for providing ERISA compliance and consulting services for Transamerica departments, sales consultants, clients and their advisors, and external vendors, such as third-party administrative firms. He is as expert on complex issues regarding plan administration, including nondiscrimination testing, plan document and plan design.

Jonathan joined Transamerica in 2001 and has over 25 years of experience in the retirement and employee benefits industry. He is the author of all amendments to Transamerica Retirement Services’ proprietary defined contribution prototypes and volume submitter plans used for the qualified 401(a)/401(k) market.

Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Cedarville University in Ohio and his Juris Doctor at Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, Calif. In 2007, he obtained the Degree of Master of Laws in Business and Corporate Law from the University of San Diego School of Law.
